Godfrey Pontoons has decided to make his big breakthrough and bet everything on electric engines. The reason is simple: the leading manufacturer of high quality and maximum resistance pontoons has chosen to open the door to respect for the environment. And to do so, it has decided to embrace ecological solutions within its shipyards. A choice that allows its models to rely on electric engines: the group, with over 10 years of history, launches the Mighty G in 2023, which features a Torqeedo branded electric engine.

The Mighty G electric breakthrough

In the current year, the great news of Godfrey Pontoons is precisely that of launching the first pontoon designed from scratch to be powered by electric or gas engines. But which are the characteristics of the Mighty G?

  • It’s a very maneuverable and compact model
  • It’s being built on a pontoon base to ensure a familiar and comfortable ride
  • It’s compatible with electric, or gas propulsion as needed

Measuring 15 feet, seven inches and with a beam of seven feet, six inches, this space is ideal for accommodating up to a maximum of 7 passengers. It has a low deck height and a rigid frame which helps to lower the pontoon’s center of gravity. Finally, it is provided with good efficiency and excellent performance with both gas and electric engines. And since we’re talking about electric, let’s take a closer look at the peculiarities of the Torqeedo engine.

The new Cruise engines series from Torqeedo

Talking about the Mighty G also means recalling the new engines of the Cruise series, perhaps the most powerful series ever for Torqeedo. The engines consist of 3 kW, 6 kW and 12 kW models and perfectly represent the present but, above all, the future of the nautical sector. In fact, they are gaining more and more ground, even to the point of attracting the attention of all those who want to rely on a pontoon. And it is precisely here that Godfrey Pontoons positions himself considering the Mighty G perfect for electric propulsion.

Torqeedo’s new higher-powered Cruise-series motors consist of 3 kW, 6 kW and 12 kW models.

The boat, available in 2 models optimized for cruising or fishing, is very versatile and manages to guarantee everything a consumer needs. Both for family sailing, but also for a fishing session, in the name of a day spent on the water. As mentioned, both models are available with the option of Torqeedo Cruise 3.0, 6.0 or 12.0 electric engines, which guarantee a spacious solution.

Other characteristics

During the design phase, support elements were considered to increase the efficiency of the platform. Think for example of the idea of allowing ideal floating levels with the use of full-size tubes. These are also useful for minimizing drag in the water: this way, the Mighty G becomes an optimal vessel for customers.

In the case of gas-powered outboards, on the other hand, the models are classified up to 50 HP: this is in fact considered a very interesting power for towed sports. Among these we mention, for example, slalom water skiing.

Final considerations

This Godfrey Pontoons product manages to guarantee maximum resistance but also a series of highly efficient comforts. We mention the durable bench seating, plus a fishing station with rod holders and tackle storage.

In addition, a new Nightshade boat cover to be applied on its models has also been released. This is an interesting add-on that is not only efficient, but also easy to use, providing convenient access to the vessel. All this is also accompanied by full RGB lighting, an optional sun visor and a mobile phone holder near the helm station.

Mighty G is yet another model that is preparing to conquer an important space within the sustainable nautical sector.
