Innovation, Development and Customers: How Torqeedo Looks at the Future

by xBJ1R439wX

There are 3 outstanding profiles behind the new ambitious plans for the future of Torqeedo. Supporting CEO Fabian Bez are Sven Mostögl and Matthias Vogel, two prominent personalities who have recently been chosen to lead two distinct business units. This new coupling is the answer that Torqeedo, leader in electric mobility for the nautical industry, wantsto give to a dynamic sector that is constantly moving and growing.

A strategic move that not only aims to improve the company’s entire projects, but also product development, innovation, and customer relations.

Torqeedo’s projects and challenges for tomorrow

For several years Torqeedo has been the leading company capable of relaunching and actively supporting the electrification of the nautical industry. In recent months, in particular, it has been possible to take an important step forward for the electric mobility of the nautical and maritime industries, thanks to the main partners, but also to boat builders and customers. This was explained by Fabian Bez himself, who in recent months has been working on new goals and major challenges.

With the increasing attention of consumers towards the reference sector, the way in which Torqeedo approaches its customers on five continents and seven seas has also changed. This means presenting and offering customized and ideal solutions for different occasions: from the support to the single fisherman/consumer to the complete passenger ferry service. Two different realities, but equally important.

“That’s why we’ve created two distinct business units within Torqeedo, each with new and experienced leadership,” Bez explained recently.

The idea is to offer the best navigation experience and at the same time more flexible and modular systems, in order to deliver the right and suitable services to the end customer.

Shaping the future of electric mobility on water

If 100,000 electric motors were sold in 15 years, in the following 3 years the company reached 200,000 units. These data are the clear signal of the new approach and of the great curiosity generated about the Torqeedo world and its creed: electric mobility, but above all sustainability.

Mostögl, nature lover and father of 3 small children understands very well. Every day he finds himself questioning what actions are useful for reducing the environmental impact and finding a more sustainable lifestyle.

“The opportunity to impact, shape and grow the market for zero-emission electric mobility on the water at Torqeedo is so exciting for me – and very close to my heart,” he admitted.

But how is the future of this sector “shaped”? Making the proposed solutions accessible and versatile. For example, Torqeedo has developed a range of products that cater to a broad group of boaters, from anglers sailing in a kayak in the United States to those participating in a regatta in the Mediterranean, not forgetting those who own a dinghy as a means of sharing moments of fun with family and friends.
“We make the most attractive, durable, reliable, and powerful electric drive systems available from series production, and we’ll take that to the next level by exploring more sustainable materials, new ways to harvest and use renewable energy onboard, and innovative technology that makes boating easier, cleaner and more accessible,” Mostögl explained.

Looking in the right direction, past the boat

The trio Bez, Mostögl and Vogel ready for new projects with Torqeedo.

Inclusivity means opening the doors of Torqeedo to any type of vessel, presenting products capable of inspiring people as well as improving boating. An approach that will be achieved by working on the characteristics and advantages of each product, but also on the way in which the customer can obtain this information. And all of this involves not only individuals, but also companies and businesses that regularly use workboats, water taxis, passenger ferries and tour boats.

The change is on a global scale to make a difference not only to the climate but also to improve local air quality, all around the world.

A society transformation to bring the maritime industry closer to the post-carbon era, made of unprecedented investments in technologies, batteries, and new energy sources such as fuel cells. A different way to think about the concept of boating, moving the boundaries to further raise the bar.

Emission-free boating becomes an essential objective that targets a large public, for an improvement that will affect not only the environment but also human beings.
