They have the ability to store far more energy than any other battery and do not lose charge capacity, reliably delivering energy. And finally they are undoubtedly much longer lasting than any other type of battery. In short, batteries are a key point and <strong>Torqeedo<\/strong>, which has been a pioneer in the development of lithium batteries since 2005, knows this very well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lately, the company has decided to improve its product offer by announcing a new battery option. We are talking about the <strong>Deep Blue Battery 80<\/strong>, that features a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) chemical composition and supplies 80 kWh of storage energy. Practically double compared to the previous version of batteries of this series. This means enhancing the accumulation power without requiring excessive volume. Added to this are maximum durability, reliability, and total safety with a ten-year capacity warranty for recreational and commercial use. It consists of the union between the individual battery cells that are integrated directly without the need for intermediate modules or components. This results in less volume and a battery that is much more compact and perfect for installation on different types of boats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>\u201cIn the past, lithium iron phosphate batteries just took up too much room but they have come a long way over the past couple of years,\u201d <\/em>Bez explained .<br><br><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_use_of_the_battery_on_boats\"><\/span>The use of the battery on boats<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thanks to its <strong>high volumetric energy density<\/strong> (278 Wh\/L) this battery is also ideal for larger vessels with a higher weight, such as cruise yachts or commercial vessels themselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Also, let\u2019s consider that a passenger\u2019s ferry emits the same pollution as about 40 diesel buses, which is why it is advisable to think of a suitable solution to obtain its electrification. A real priority that <strong>Torqeedo<\/strong> did not want to ignore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>\u201cLFP batteries have excellent longevity and safety and are made with abundant raw materials which avoids the high cost, ethical and environmental concerns, and sourcing instability of critical metals in today\u2019s fast-moving markets,\u201d<\/em> concluded the CEO.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After all, it\u2019s precisely the <strong>LFP batteries<\/strong> that play a key role in the transport sector: in fact, they are also used in electric cars, in particular by the absolute leader in the sector which is Tesla.
