Thus, the aim is to make the engines more and more in line with the strict regulations introduced precisely for the <strong>control of emissions<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It\u2019s sufficient to recall that currently, in the EU, the most restrictive legislation in the world with respect to the control and verification phase of the exhaust of diesel engines used on off-road operating machines (EU 2016\/1628) is in force.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thanks to investments, both in the research and development phases, it has been possible to find the best technical and cutting-edge solutions for <strong>reducing emissions<\/strong>. To date, the theme of hybrid propulsion systems is central not only to the automotive market, but also to construction sites, agriculture and the railway sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A radical change that has led to a series of fundamental changes of direction: in 2017, for example, <strong>Deutz acquired Torqeedo<\/strong>, a company specializing in the design and construction of electric and hybrid systems for boats.<br><br><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Why_the_railway_sector\"><\/span>Why the railway sector?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The motivation behind the choice to follow this path is mainly linked to an economic factor. In fact, for many railway operating machines, there is considerable economic convenience in <strong>upgrading to the latest technological standards<\/strong>, rather than proceeding with the purchase of a new vehicle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of the most recent implemented works is the one that led to the replacement of a very old GM engine with a brand new <strong>Deutz TCD5.2L4<\/strong> calibrated 150 kW at 2200 RPM in the suction powerpack version. Insiders have always been surprised by the high level of reliability and the <strong>widespread presence of service centers<\/strong> throughout the country, not only in Italy but also worldwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In this way, all those companies that use machines equipped with <strong>DEUTZ engines<\/strong> have always been able to count on excellent assistance and support service, also thanks to the high productivity. Being able to produce versatile and customized solutions thus makes the installation of engines, which become more complex year after year, more practical.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For any installation, thanks to the <strong>support of qualified personnel<\/strong>, it\u2019s possible to find the most suitable motor, followed by fine-tuning and correct ad hoc installation to make each machine valid and effective.<br><br><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Repowering_as_a_valid_project_for_an_increasingly_sustainable_future\"><\/span>Repowering as a valid project for an increasingly sustainable future<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On average, a railway operating machine has a long operational life, around thirty years, and being able to keep it up to date requires <strong>optimizing each operation<\/strong>. Also in terms of compliance with the regulations. Old engines have a high level of pollution compared to those that are described through the rules and regulations that have come into force in more recent times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Repowering is therefore an interesting way to save money, but also to make the most of the power of operational, safe engines with low or even zero polluting emissions.
