A recognition that can hardly be forgotten, especially thinking back to Torqeedo\u2019s history, which began way back in 2005, when there was no proposal for the development of electric nautical motors, industrially speaking. The commercial marine market is very demanding when it comes to product quality and durability. But it\u2019s also where some of the greatest gains can be realized by going electric. Electrification reduces maintenance, noise and emissions, while increasing crew and passenger safety, health and enjoyment.\u201d<\/em><br><br><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_rich_catalog_of_outboards\"><\/span>The rich catalog of outboards<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Which are the products that drove <strong>Torqeedo<\/strong> towards this prestigious award? The company has supplied emission-free electric drive systems for a rich variety of commercial marine applications. Let&#8217;s name a few!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Let&#8217;s think, for example, of the electric ferries that manage the transfer of commuters in the metropolitan city of Bangkok. The idea stems from the electrification project of urban traffic, covering the numerous canals of the city, thanks to <strong>Torqeedo<\/strong> electric drive systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It also plays a key role in promoting access to education and health care for members of the Achuar tribe in Ecuador. Not to mention the Efinor&#8217;s Sea Cleaner, designed to clean up pollution in inland waterways and ports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>No less important is the Circular Explorer, a <strong>Torqeedo<\/strong> solar-powered boat that is actively fighting plastic pollution in our seas and oceans by cleaning up Manila Bay.<br><br><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_electric_turn\"><\/span>The electric turn<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>As previously mentioned, electric drives on autonomous vessels are useful for collecting ocean data and monitoring sea level rise. Therefore, important benefits were recorded for each use, as confirmed by Czabke himself:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cEven lifeboats, rescue boats, and windfarm support vessels are being converted to battery-electric or hybrid systems,\u201d said Czabke. \u201cThe light commercial fleet is leading the way toward a more sustainable blue economy.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For its part, since that distant 2005, <strong>Torqeedo<\/strong> has learned to integrate a good duration with the reliability of an electrical system, respecting the requests of professional sailors. It did so by developing electric and hybrid propulsion systems from 0.5 kW up to 200 kW of power, including batteries, accelerators, controls and displays.
