This locality (Mali Lo\u0161inj in Croatian ) is the main locality and port of the Croatian island of Lo\u0161inj in the Adriatic Sea. The engine being serviced is the <strong>DEUTZ BV8M640 R<\/strong>. It\u2019s an eight-cylinder in-line engine, 600 rpm , 3,235.00 kW.<br><br><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_intended_use_of_the_engine\"><\/span><strong>The intended use of the engine<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This is a large engine capable of offering power and reliability and which has been mounted over the years on single-engine vessels. Vessels that use this type of engine are usually ferries, container carriers and small ships in general. As you can imagine, these ships need highly reliable engines, even to make numerous trips every day with frequent stops and starts. In this case, we are talking about a passenger ferry that runs back and forth between the <strong>island of Losinj<\/strong> and the mainland.<br><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_required_maintenance_work\"><\/span><strong>The required maintenance work<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The shipowner instructed DEUTZ Italy to carry out the following maintenance operations on the BV 8M640 R engine:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul style=\"font-size:16px\"><li>Motor shaft replacement<\/li><li>Cylinder block alignment and boring<\/li><li>Bearing replacement<\/li><li>Oil pump replacement<\/li><li>Reassembly<\/li><li>Checks and sea trials<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-container-2 wp-block-gallery-1 wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.deutzmag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/lavori-di-manutenzione-motore-deutz-in-croazia-02-e1626114101832.jpg\" data-rel=\"penci-gallery-image-content\" ><img data-id=\"891\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.deutzmag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/lavori-di-manutenzione-motore-deutz-in-croazia-02.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-891\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Original_DEUTZ_spare_parts_also_for_older_models\"><\/span><br><strong>Original DEUTZ spare parts also for older models<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>As usual, <strong>DEUTZ<\/strong> is able to supply original spare parts for the maintenance of outdated and no longer marketed engines.
